Hello everyone!

Due to other obligations in life, I haven’t made any updates to RecordPress for a longer time. I have my *** full with other things that needs it’s attention. Despite my silence I have RecordPress in my mind nearly 24/7.

I have decided to set-up a goal to fix some needed changes, code improvements (a lot of it!!!) and other updates as soon as possible. Hopefully before this year ends! No promise thou.. As an record collector I still collect records, but due to lack of time, I haven’t had the time to start add my existing and newly bought records to my Bocken Records homepage.

So let’s hold our thumbs that I’ll release the next version of RecordPress shortly! The only thing I need is TIME!

Wohoo! Now I’m back in bussines! It was a loong time since I wrote something in this blog! Let’s change this and celebrate with the forthcoming version of RecordPress.

This version will not have any new features. I will only fine-tune it and fix some minor bugs and improve the existing code.

This summer I have had a break working with RecordPress! The existing forum have had a complete silence until a few days ago! It feels good to finally have people starting to ask questions etc. Unfortunately it has been installation and/or running issues, but it’s better than nothing! Since if nobody is saying anything, all I can do is assume that RecordPress is perfect and works greate!

Without any feedback I’m unable to fix unknown problems, layout changes, new features etc… So please! If you stumble upon problems or everything works great! let me know! Your feedback is not only important for me! It’s also important for you, existing users and future users! Remember: Everyone is invited to contribute to this 100% free open-source project!

… Since I wrote anything in this blog! So what’s happening then? Well I’m currently working on the next release of RecordPress! Version 0.3.1.

New things in this release is that it’s now possible to select your own session time without edit the .htaccess file. It’s now possible to select what to view when a user takes a closer look at a record. By default empty fields will never be shown but now you can also disable fields like “tracklist” for all records. A simple “ebay” feature will be added so you can easily add  a link to your records auction on ebay or like!

There will be some structural/code changes as well! So when you upgrade you must upgrade your themes so they will work correctly with the 0.3.1 release.

When is the expected release date? Don’t know yet but very soon. It’s time to make fresh installs and test upgrade feature. Test everything so I can release it without problems of any kind! But I can never guarantee anything as usual…

RecordPress version 0.3 is here!

First off I have added my project to some script pages like scripts.com and hotscripts.com. Number of downloads is increasing every day! Fun! Hopefully some of these downloaders actually use RecordPress and likes it! So if you are a RecordPress user and reading this blog, please register at our forum!

I’m currently redesigning the installation software! Make it easier to understand and easier to use hopefully! With this installation you’ll be able to install a fresh new or upgrade an existing one! Hold your thumbs up high fir this ppl!

The next release has to be delayed a couple of more days, due to other obligations in life!

Tomorrow is beta testing time! Finally I can say that RecordPress IS the best release ever! Now all the main functions is working that I have had in mind since the beginning of the first release. It’s “complete” since all that I have wished to work is doing that now (at least for me)! Ok… I will NOT stop develop RecordPress! Now it’s time to really improve the base of it! Now we (yes WE since everyone is invited to help) have that solid base to develop future releases of, to make RecordPress an future state-of-art record publishing platform!

Maybe RecordPress allready is that state-of-art record publishing software for the web? It’s all up to you…

The next version of RecordPress is expected to be released this week! Most of the changes can be found inside the code. This is mainly fixes to the admin section. One of the more noticeable functions is that when you upload files, they can now be added with a new record, so you won’t need to type them in manually! If you delete a record you can now choose to delete the record AND the pictures or just delete the record but KEEP the pictures.

Witch musician will I share my thoughts to in this release? First it was Late night release (not an musician at all) and in v0.2.7 it was Brian Jones. Now… Hmmm… Every new release for now on will be named after a musician! That’s for shure!

The RecordPress stats is just so impressive! Have a look by yourself! Umm well.. Maybe it’s time to start an comercial campaign or something! Who know what will happen with the next release of RecordPress!

Hmm.. It was a long time since i wrote anything in thos blog, that has become more like an development blog! Anything new then? Well I have had an longer vacation from programming. The next release of Recordpress will have some minor fixes and changes with the upload function. When you have uploaded picture(s) you should be able to add a new record with these values predefined! Now you need to add them manually. That’s about it.
